Responsible Gaming
Gambling Should Be Entertainment, Not Income
At Soundscape Festival, we believe that poker and casino games should be enjoyed as a form of entertainment only. Gambling should never be viewed as a way to make money, pay bills, or solve financial problems. Only gamble with money you can afford to lose, and always play within your means.
If you're seeking financial solutions, please consider speaking with a financial advisor or contacting the Citizens Advice Bureau (www.citizensadvice.org.uk) for support.
Age Verification
In the United Kingdom, you must be 18 years of age or older to gamble legally. All operators featured on this site require strict age verification before allowing access to gaming services.
If you are under 18, please do not attempt to gamble. Gambling at a young age can lead to serious harm and addiction.
Warning Signs of Problem Gambling
Problem gambling can develop gradually. Please review the following checklist and seek help if you recognise any of these signs in yourself or someone you know:
- Constantly thinking about gambling or previous gambling experiences
- Needing to gamble with increasing amounts of money to achieve the same level of excitement
- Repeatedly trying to cut back or stop gambling but being unable to do so
- Feeling restless or irritable when attempting to reduce or stop gambling
- Gambling to escape problems, relieve stress, anxiety, or depression
- Chasing losses by gambling more to try to recover money lost
- Lying to family, friends, or therapists about the extent of gambling involvement
- Jeopardizing relationships, education, or career opportunities due to gambling
- Borrowing money or becoming financially dependent on others to fund gambling
- Unable to account for time or money spent gambling
- Experiencing mood swings or personality changes related to gambling
If you identify with any of these signs, help is available. Please reach out to one of the support organisations listed below.
Self-Help Tools and Responsible Gaming Features
Most reputable UK-licensed casino and poker operators provide tools to help you gamble responsibly. These include:
- Deposit Limits: Set a maximum amount you can deposit over a specific period (daily, weekly, or monthly). Operators cannot exceed this limit.
- Loss Limits: Set a maximum amount you're willing to lose in a given timeframe. Gaming will automatically stop when this limit is reached.
- Spending Limits: Control the total amount you spend on gaming activities.
- Reality Checks: Receive regular pop-up reminders about how long you've been playing and how much you've spent.
- Time-Out: Take a temporary break from gambling (typically 24 hours to several weeks) without fully closing your account.
- Self-Exclusion: Permanently or temporarily exclude yourself from accessing an operator's services. Self-exclusion tools typically last from 6 months to indefinitely.
- Account Closure: Permanently close your account with an operator.
We encourage you to use these tools proactively. Speak with your chosen operator's customer support team for assistance in setting these limits.
